If you're an architecture buff, you'll want to head to Gambsheim to admire the Rhine hydroelectric power station, complete with its fishway and museum area. A ferry runs directly across the Rhine from Drusenheim. You can also visit Offendorf, home to no fewer than four harbours on either side of the Rhine and the German border, as well as several water sports centres and a shipping museum housed in a barge. Finally, it couldn't be easier to get to the centre of Strasbourg, where you'll discover typical Alsatian half-timbered houses, the seat of the European Parliament, the meandering River Ill and the famous Christmas market, known in Alsatian as Christkindelsmärik. Bis bald!
